I would say the rubber bands are good if you want to eventually take apart, but if you plan on keeping the cage up for good, wood glue and aquarium silicone to seal lining instead of the tape would possible be a great idea. Overall I am satisfied with the cage. Packaged very well! Also, as u see in my photo I have other Niteangel products that fit perfectly inside.
